A FEW MONTHS AGO, we wrote asking you to increase your giving to the church. I am happy to report that you have responded. Some friends of the church have given one-time grants to support our mission. Some of you have increased your regular giving. This has put us on a stronger footing. While we are not a rich church, we are not at risk at this time. We do need to build up the church’s savings to prepare us for the future. The country is slowly recovering from the recession, and I hope that as we do better as a church family, your gifts to the mission of Old Bensalem will continue. The session has responded to our need by cutting the budget. We have cut over $5,000 from our 2011 planned spending, and have decided to freeze salaries for 2012. These are small measures to be sure, but each step gets us closer to a time when our finances are no longer a daily concern and we can focus on the work that Christ has given us.
In Christ,
